Maria Elena Holguin, president of Holguin Interiors (www.holguininteriors.com ), an interior design & remodeling firm that her and her husband, Jesus Edison Holguin own. She is a licensed interior designer and the Community Ambassador for American Society of Interior Designers in Miami. She holds a Bachelor in Interior Design from Florida International University and completed an Architectural History minor in Italy. She is a fourth generation designer, has been in the field of architecture, design and construction for almost 20 years and has been able to work on projects all over the world. “Implementing architectural elements in interiors to maximize the structural beauty of a room and transforming a space beyond the clients’ expectations is the key to good design. “More important is the understanding of how people want to live and bringing their dreams to life.” She volunteers extensively with Chapman Partnerships at their homeless shelter and also designs apartments for families coming out of homelessness. Maria Elena redesigned the McLamore Center for Children’s Home Society and most recently designed a room for a terminally ill girl that was introduced to her by PICU Foundation and Kim’s Good Karma Group. Esther requested the room as one of her “last wishes”. Holguin Interiors completely remodeled and designed the room. “As an interior designer I am surrounded by luxury every day and I wanted to find a way to give back. Designing spaces that transform lives is our legacy.”
